RHYL FC Football in the Community has teamed up with a local grower and wholesaler to provide their community with fresh fruit.

Alan Huson from Huson’s Farm Produce and Rhyl FITC will supply a range of seasonal fresh fruit, salad and vegetables to locals at a new food co-op held at Belle Vue football ground.

Seasonal goody bags will be sold at pounds 3 each, with all overflowing with locally grown produce such as potatoes, carrots, leeks, broccoli, apples, pears, tomatoes and various salad leaves and all designed to encourage their young players and their families to choose and eat healthy food at home and rise to the challenge of the Change4Life campaign.

Rhyl FC is the first football club in Wales to develop a non- profit food co-operative.

Tracey Jones, Rhyl FC Football in the Community Manager said: “We believe running a food co-op is integral to the work that we do here at Rhyl FC to improve the health and wellbeing of our community
